We must share our stories.
Recent conversations with family and friends about race and gender equity in the workplace led me to examine the structures that help to maintain the status quo in organizations where I work.
I learned that my colleagues and peers use various strategies to thrive in spite of systemic oppression and challenging situations. As a result of self-examination and learning from others' practices, I am inspired to collect and publish our stories and to share them with young women and girls who are preparing to enter the professional work world.
How will the next generation benefit from our experiences? Can they be more strategic, better prepared, and stand confident when faced with opposition?
I invite you to participate and to document your story. Submissions are due on May 15, 2015 and stories will be selected based on how they fit within the larger collection to tell the story of our learning as a community of women in the workplace.
