In 2024, BlackFemaleProject is celebrating 10 years of service to Black women. Our theme, Because of a Black Woman, acknowledges and expresses gratitude for the icons who’ve inspired us from afar and for the Black women who have invested their time and talents to support the growth of BlackFemaleProject. This quote gallery exhibit gives you the chance to hear reflections from Black woman professionals—across industry and generation—who’ve engaged with our work over the years.
Since 2014, BlackFemaleProject has been collecting stories, bringing women together, and providing resources that support professional and personal well-being. We document the ways that Black professionals thrive despite patterns of systemic oppression in the workplace. Through our work, we’ve learned that lifting up Black women’s reflections on navigating challenging work environments can provide models and resources that help the next generation to thrive. We share these stories not only for our own personal healing, but also to expand collective awareness of our experiences.
