8 Weeks of Self-Discovery in partnership with Dr. Walters, Walters Wellness Group


Event Description

What inspires you? What brings you joy? How do you cope with loss? We will journey together and come out on the other side with increased self-awareness and personal insight.

In partnership with Dr. Cathia Walters, Founder of the Walters Wellness Group, BlackFemaleProject invites you to join us virtually for our weekly Spring series of exploring and [re]discovering ourselves. For 8 consecutive Wednesdays, we'll come together to recognize how emotions affect our well-being. We will practice compassion-based healing and spend time checking in with ourselves as we learn to navigate life challenges.

We invite you to join us for all 8 sessions, but attendees are not required to attend all 8 to participate in this year's program. 

What You'll Need

  • Pen and Paper 

  • Spirit of Curiosity 

  • Other minimal items may be shared at end of each week (Mostly from around your house.)

About the Collaborator

Dr. Cathia Walters is an educator with a degree in clinical psychology, and the founder of the Walters Wellness Group. She teaches classes focused on the use of compassion in healing and incorporating movement as a part of the healing process.

She has presented and served as a keynote panelist for the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence, focusing on “Healing Trauma: From then to Now.” She was also the keynote speaker for New Bethel Tabernacle’s “Unwavering Faith” Women’s 2022 Conference, speaking on the topic of trauma and grief. Additionally, she has written and collaborated on published articles in the former APA Journal PsycCritiques.
