Wellness from the West - Experiencing Wellness through African Dance Diaspora

About the Event:

From the beat of your heart to the rhythm of your step, from the sway of your hips to the summoning of your soul, we’re connecting ancestral traditions to the power of love and nourishment for self and community.

Join us for a virtual presentation and panel discussion on West African Diasporic dance, designed to unite minds, bodies, and spirits, and articulate the ways that an intentional, grounding practice can bring more wellness to your world.

Our panelists will include: Muisi-kongo S. Malonga Nikka Maynard , Danielle Delane, Jamilia Fuller, and Sherice Tyler.

About the Facilitator:

Tavita Bass has discovered that a constant process of growth and reflection is necessary. Tavita has been involved in West African Dance since 1994. After 10 years of dreaming, she recently piloted Sovereign Chance, an organization dedicated to bridging the gap between academic settings and home life.
