AUGUST 2026 Wellness Resources
Welcome to August! This month, we’re thinking about what it means to truly care for ourselves. Regina Jackson reminds us that “part of the fight is self-care.” As Black women, we know that rest can feel like a radical act in a world that constantly asks us to do more, give more, and carry more. But if we want to thrive, we must also make space to show up for ourselves.
Self-care is more than a moment of quiet or a day off. It is the ongoing practice of listening to ourselves, honoring our needs, and recognizing that our well-being matters. This August, we encourage you to think about how rest supports your ability to lead, create, connect, and thrive. Rest is not something we have to earn after we have done enough. It is something we deserve simply because we are human.
Our August Resources offer opportunities to move your body, connect with Black literature and culture, learn more about entrepreneurship and politics, and explore what it really means to rest. Take a breath, make some space, and remember: part of the fight is self-care.

REFLECTION QUESTIONs:
What does true rest look and feel like for you? What would it take to make more space for it in your life?
Where in your life are you constantly pouring into others while depleting your own reserves? What would it look like to give some of that care back to yourself?
Think about the roles you hold in your work, family, and community. How might prioritizing your own well-being help you thrive in those roles?

Our community reflects something powerful back to us: the spirit of BlackFemaleProject is strong because integrity is at the heart of the network we’ve built. We are fortunate to have supporters who deeply believe and invest in this mission. You have attended events, read our stories, and trusted us with yours. That trust proves our service matters.
BlackFemaleProject grew from one person’s healing journey into a collective movement that extends deep into the community. A decade later, we are honored that our community continues to affirm the power and integrity of this work. We know, through our own lived experiences and the stories shared with us, that values-driven spaces like this are rare and vital.
