OCTOBER 2025 Wellness Resources
In a world that overemphasizes the importance of productivity and encourages grind culture as a way to excel in a capitalistic context, there is always something else to do. Send one more email! Attend one more friend’s event! Cook one more meal for your loved ones! But when do we rest? When do we make space to recover and to dream?
Yes, our time on this planet is limited, and it’s important that we make use of it. In order to show up for ourselves or anyone else, though, it’s vital that we create opportunities for rest, relaxation, and restoration. Our joy and our imagination rely on it. This month, we’re encouraging you to consider your relationship with rest and to prioritize resting as a way to honor yourself and your well-being. Check out some salient reflections from an event we co-hosted with Dr. Wendi Williams, the author of Black Women at Work: On Refusal and Recovery, and dig into our other October resources in support of your ability to slow down and dream big.
RESOURCES FOR THRIVING
REFLECTION QUESTIONs:
What is your relationship with resting? Do you prioritize your own rest? Do you feel guilty or unproductive when you consider choosing your rest over doing something else?
What benefits have you experienced when you’re well rested that aren’t available to you when you’re tired and/or overworked?
What strategies or tools can you put in place in order to be sure you consistently prioritize your rest and well-being?
