WELLNESS CALENDAR
A year of reflection, wisdom, and wellness
The 2025 BlackFemaleProject Wellness Calendar is our fourth annual offering of its kind, uplifting the voices of our community as resources for your wellness. We hope this reflection of our care and appreciation supports your well-being and joy throughout the year.

Capitalism thrives on high speed, but if we can disconnect from the 24 hour news cycle and the stream of ads that constantly confronts us, we’ll see that nature models something different for us—a slower pace and a balance of energies.
Especially as Black women in a society that consistently favors Whiteness and maleness, we have to be intentional in order to quiet the noise around us, prioritize ourselves, and determine what we personally want to normalize and practice in our own daily lives.
Just like a flower grows from seed to bloom, many of us also have to journey before being ready to share our brilliance and beauty with the world. And just like the flowers blooming around us this time of year, each of us has a uniqueness that only we possess.
Many of us have experienced the remarkable impact of storytelling in our own lives. Whether it happens through literature, theater, or good old-fashioned conversation, resonant and reflective storytelling can unlock and unleash untapped power and potential.
Black women’s relationship to caretaking is a complex one. We’re often thought of as reliable, loving, supportive, and nurturing—all admirable qualities. But when and how are we making time to apply these qualities to ensure that we care for ourselves? After all, we can only show up for others if and when we’re well enough to do so.
All the wisdom that we need exists within us. But in a world full of distractions, we have to be intentional about quieting the noise in order to hear our intuition clearly. Between social media, the 24 hour news cycle, and the general expansion of digital technology, there are countless forces pulling us away from quiet moments of solitude. The good news, though, is that there are also countless ways to cultivate these moments to connect with ourselves and tap into our inner worlds.
The modern world is full of extremes. As we witness and experience drastic political, social, and environmental crises, we continue to be surrounded by beautiful examples of love, resistance, and hope.
In our world, Black women are a total standard of excellence. The style, the grace, the melanin, the beauty! But the wider world we live in doesn’t always see it the same way. External projections and false narratives often try to position Black women in a less favorable light rather than acknowledging and honoring our natural state of glory.
One of the core reasons that Precious Stroud started BlackFemaleProject was to offer guidance and insights for younger Black women, in hopes that they’ll be better prepared to navigate their professional journeys. While we all have to learn our own preferences and limitations through experience, many of us would have benefited from more transparent information about what patterns we might encounter.
